Freelancer 3D Rigger / Rigging TD - Pool

Mimic Productions, a leading Berlin-based 3D Scanning and Motion Capture studio specializing in creating photo-real digital doubles, cartoon characters, and creatures, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Freelance 3D Rigger/Riggin Technical Director to join our team.

This position offers the flexibility to work remotely, with a preferred time difference of a maximum of 4-5 hours from Berlin, Germany (GMT+1).



Responsibilities:


  • Apply your proficiency in Maya or other 3D software to rig characters and assets effectively

  • Utilize your extensive experience in MEL and Python scripting to develop efficient tools and workflows

  • Utilize Maya API to enhance rigging techniques and optimize performance

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of 3D animation pipelines

  • Collaborate closely with artists and animators to ensure seamless integration of rigs


Qualifications:


  • Extensive experience with MEL and Python scripting

  • Proficiency in Maya or other relevant 3D software

  • Strong knowledge of Maya API and rigging techniques

  • Familiarity with 3D animation pipelines

  • Familiarity with Metahuman Facial Rig

  • Knowledge of Unity or Unreal Engine is highly desired

  • Experience with PySide/PyQt for UI design is a plus

  • Understanding of C++ programming is advantageous

  • Prior experience rigging humanoid characters and working with facial animation pipelines is preferred

  • Focus on characters and creature rigging
